Tune: Beach House - Used To Be
My 'relax me please' band! The whole Teen Dream album by this Baltimore due is literally a dream to listen to.
Beautiful melodies, tender lyrics and the calming reassurance that music can help you to de-stress. This was one of my favourite albums of 2010 and I love everything they have done.
My favourite part is the latter end of the song, although I wish it was longer.
Close your eyes and get lost in this little gem.
9/10. I just wish it was longer!
Tune: The Airborne Toxic Event - Changing
I hold my hands up! It was the teenage dramas of the CW's Gossip Girl and 90210 that brought me to this song!
Gossip Girl must be praised for introducing me to a number of bands and, although maybe not too credible, cannot be faulted as a good platform to get an artist's name out there.
This tune is funky indie at best with a catchy chorus. Great for house parties and BBQs.
Rating: 8/10. Pretty damn great.
Tune: Modest Mouse - Float On
In my Top 5 songs of all time, without fail. Before the wonder of Shazam, I was at a party and, after years of hearing this song and not knowing who was responsible, I was finally enlightened and entered the amazing world of Modest Mouse!
This song defines my favourite type of music - laid-back rock with a good hook and bass line.
I challenge you not to fall in love and listen to it on repeat for days! Oh, it's just me that does that?
10/10 Just perfect. Cannot be faulted in any way.

Tune: Kavinsky - Nightcall
After finally getting to see the 2011 Ryan Gosling-and-fast-cars fest that is Drive last month, it is safe to say I am OBSESSED with the soundtrack!
College's 'A Real Hero' is my favourite but there is no denying the brilliance of French house act's Kavinsky's 'Nightcall'. Fans of the movie felt excited when the intro blasted out during the opening titles (after the riveting car-police chase at the start) and it set the tone for the movie's effortlessly cool vibe that continued throughout.
I literally had this on repeat when I discovered and still listen to it daily. It will never get old!
Rating: 9/10
(only because the electronic voice takes a bit of getting used to!)
